Producer Karan Johar doesn’t always need designer-goods-laden actors, souped-up cars and mansions with sweeping staircases to pull off an engaging family drama. Sometimes, real people, less glycerine and even less melodrama can do the trick.Director Shakun Bhatra’s Kapoor & Sons, a story about two brothers who return home to the picturesque Coonoor, a hill station in Tamil Nadu, to visit their ailing grandfather, is a touching film made terrific by some great performances. Of course, that the two are supremely good-looking only helps matters.

Katrina Kaif, one of the most charming ladies in the Bollywood right now, was born as Katrina Turquotte in British Hong Kong. Her real name only a few of her dead-fans might know. Katrina and her entire family have been to a number of countries before she settled in India. The model-turned star really had a nightmare debut which everyone would love to forget. Her debut movie Boom, released in 2003, was an utter commercial failure.
Then she appeared in Marathi film Malliswari before she re-entered into the Bollywood. She was reported to have received a huge sum of Rs. 7.5 million for this film. This was the highest payment for any actress in South Indian film industry at that time. Apart from Marathi and Hindi, she also has acted in Telugu and Malayalam films.
Next year she returned to Bollywood, pairing Abhishek Bachchan in Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar. Her next film to be released was Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? Katrina is often quoted as saying this Salman Khan starrer movie was her first real entry into Bollywood. But still this could not offer her anything good. So she returned to Telugu doing her second film Allari Pidugu. Meanwhile she also appeared in Belram vs Tharadas, a Mammootty starer Malayalam film.
